Think my logic is, if ol mate is revving his car ready to launch from the christmas tree to turn left, and other ol mate runs a red light, there is a match made in heaven their. I'll leave it to themselves.
If ol mate just turned left at normal speed like a normal person would, and was hit by a red light runner, I think I would stop or call it in.
Given the world we have created, I'm not touching anyone injured. Sad as that is, but I will make a call for help, or prove some comforting words, or direct traffic. That is about the legal compacity of my skill. Here in Australia trucks are also hated but sounds like no where near you guys.
My wife says I would have to do mouth to month, nope. I'll make a call to an insured professional. It saddens me lawyers and greedy people have made us so anti each other, but I'm not prepared to be the lone ranger and lead the charge back to decency.
I witnessed a crash and just kept going. Should I have stopped?

Hard to imagine so many fire arms owners wearing flip flops huh?Snailexpress, Bean Jr. and AModelCat Thank this. -
Ok, here's what happened. The truck in front was making a left. His trailer swung right and some nincompoop decided that was the right time to open her car door. It caught on the trailer, and lifted up the car. She and her co-nincompoop tried to run after the truck. I called Jevic (yes, that long ago) and told them what I saw. They took my number and I never heard from them.
Feedman Thanks this. -
The other driver gets killed, would you be worried about being sued? Probably not.
The other driver left suicide notes at home. Would you be worried? Probably not. Nothing to worry about.
Had this exact thing happen to a friend of mine driving an 18. Despite the dash cam, despite eyewitness testimony, despite the suicide notes, the jury decided against the truck driver.
If a shooter goes into a movie theater, that bad. If he goes to the mall, that’s bad. But if he goes into a truck stop parking lot and starts shooting, and some trucker runs him over, that driver would probably be sued. The whole discussion changes because of the truck.Bean Jr., Feedman, Snailexpress and 5 others Thank this. -
The hipocracy of this forum is astounding. Members are quick to jump all over someone who has 2 straps on a load instead of 3 ("imagine your wife/daughter/son sharing the road with THAT guy???") but somebody in that wrecked vehicle is someone's somebody too.Swine hauler, Bean Jr., loudtom and 5 others Thank this. -

The way the system works is completely wrong. Home invader? Kill him. If he lives, he can sue you, get your house and everything you own. Everyone knows this. Same principles go for the trucking industry. Big rig accident? Sue them and get the money you deserve. Drunk guy cuts in front of an Uber, gets broadsided and knocked around and clipped by a truck. Guy dies. Investigators figure out that the truck was going 1 mph over the speed limit, and the trucking company gets sued and loses millions. Never mind the drunk. Never mind the broadside by Uber. If the truck had been going 1mph slower, the truck wouldn’t have been involved. Therefore, the truck is at fault for the fatality.
“But Six, the discussion was about aiding people in an accident.”
Right. Trucker involvement EQUALS lawsuit. -
I have seen and experienced this on numerous facets. Your not wrong. But it does not change who I am. Maybe to many years as a fire fighter, and wrecker driver. On the big road wreckers were first on scene very often. You better know basic lifesaving measures. Maybe being raised by old-school truckers to. We are to be the Kings of the Highway, Stuart of the Road. We are here to help the general motoring public.
I'll do whats needed first, and take butt chewing second.REO6205, Swine hauler, D.Tibbitt and 5 others Thank this. -
