    I'm 52 and went back to pulling a flat this year...Just take your time tarping, strapping, ect. You'll get tired at first, just work at your own pace.

    I'm kinda' the opposite, I pulled flats for mega-years & went to dry box, but it wasn't because I thought one was better then the other. Oh yeah, I'm 50+ .

    The hardest part of flat bedding that got to me was trying to lift lumber tarps up on top of a tall load. Then there was the thrill of spreading the tarps while trying to find a solid place to put your foot while up on top. Also there was a considerable amount of time used to fold tarps & put everything away after I made a delivery. Then there's will be days that you need to tarp a load & the wind won't cooperate at all.

    As for stuck at docks, I've been to job sites where I've spent the entire day getting unloaded. I've also spent hours & hours & hours in steel mills waiting in lines & waiting in yards to get loaded.

    As for as I'm concerned, age & weight really aren't a factor.
