That's really great to hear. Inspiring. You should be proud of your accomplishments, I am sure it wasn't easy. You certainly have my respect.

It's been 13 years since my conviction and to be honest I've never not gotten a job because of it. Granted they were not in the trucking industry but I did work @ places were I'm positive they did a back ground check. Honestly I've never checked YES for a felony on any application. Most of you will say be honest tell the truth well I figure if I check no and I get the job thats great and if I would have checked yes I probably wouldnt have got the job anyway. Ive been driving for 9 months now and have my HAZMAT I just started @ a 2nd trucking company and had no problem getting hired @ both. My advice is get your CDL, get your HAZMAT as long as you don't have felonies that won't exempt you from getting it you should be fine. Thats what I did I made myself valuable to the employer all they had to do was hire me. No training no nothing just put me to WORK!

I like that show lockup and a very wise guard said 'their not all bad people they just make bad choices' and choices can be changed.

I think if you can show a solid work history and a pattern of good decision making the past 10 years, you probably have a decent shot. Some companies will shy away because they won't hire felons, but not all. Good luck..
