I have minor psychosis. It's never presented a problem in every day life once.
I would like to get a CDL, but what I've read states that people with psychosis cannot get a CDL.
I would not pass the medical to get a CDL. Is there any way I can still get the CDL?

Thats something you need to discuss with a DOT certified Medical Examiner I would think.

Well, theres places to take your DOT physical which is required to drive with a CDL. Call a few clinics near you, ask if they do DOT physicals...make the appointment and spend the $100-250 for it. If you pass, being honest, then go for it and get your CDL. I suppose you could call and ask them at the appointment about your problem. They would be able to give you the number for someone else to ask if they cant answer your question.
You'll most likely need your personal DR to sign off your condition as not imparing you to drive or function normally in daily life.FloTheWaitress, Female Driver and Zeusophobia Thank this. -

You might be qualified for a medical waver, not sure how it would apply in your case, but worth a look.

Also, once you know you can get your CDL with this condition, contact the safety dept of the company your looking to apply to and let them know. They can give you answers as to wether you even qualify to be insured with them.
Even if a medical exam says yes, insurance companies can say no.wis bang and FloTheWaitress Thank this.
