Please show me where you got this information as I have had numerous DOT physicals and they have all been done by private Doctors.
I would not pass the medical to get a CDL. Is there any way I can still get the CDL?

I think his larger point is your in error. There are not currently any "state" Doctors giving DOT physicals.
Now they have to be licensed to practice medicine in their individual state but are not state employees. -

The thing is if you have been treated for this in any kind of facility..more than likely you wont be able to get a cdl of any kind.
Hazmat and Twic are out for sure as they ask the question have you ever been treated for this or that.
Something to look into..read the regulations over and over for mental and general health requirments.
Good Luck! -
To answer the original question........
You USED to be able to obtain a CDL without a medical certificate.
However I believe the law has changed now, at least in my state it has.
I still have my cdl, but I no longer have a medical card. -
Yeah they have a new reg coming in where you HAVE to have a medical card to keep your CDL active..kicks in 2013 I believe..I received a form from my state telling me when and how to follow for compliance.
So something else to think about..I guess they're cracking down on the guys that have them for a fallout plan(which I have done in years pass). -
I've held onto it as a fallout plan too. -
