I would not pass the medical to get a CDL. Is there any way I can still get the CDL?

Please show me where you got this information as I have had numerous DOT physicals and they have all been done by private Doctors.

I honestly don't give a darn where you get your physicals done. That is miles away from what I stated.

I think his larger point is your in error. There are not currently any "state" Doctors giving DOT physicals.

Now they have to be licensed to practice medicine in their individual state but are not state employees.

Maybe I worded it wrong, but they have to follow state guidelines when they administer a drug test or physical and not personal agenda. All they do is give the test and then issue the med card if you meet the criteria to get one. They aren't the ones that hire or fire you. If you didn't get hired then that's your fault for disclosing information you don't need to.

The thing is if you have been treated for this in any kind of facility..more than likely you wont be able to get a cdl of any kind.

Hazmat and Twic are out for sure as they ask the question have you ever been treated for this or that.

Something to look into..read the regulations over and over for mental and general health requirments.

    Good Luck!

    To answer the original question........

You USED to be able to obtain a CDL without a medical certificate.

However I believe the law has changed now, at least in my state it has.

I still have my cdl, but I no longer have a medical card.

Yeah they have a new reg coming in where you HAVE to have a medical card to keep your CDL active..kicks in 2013 I believe..I received a form from my state telling me when and how to follow for compliance.

So something else to think about..I guess they're cracking down on the guys that have them for a fallout plan(which I have done in years pass).

I don't understand why they do this either. I think it states something stupid -- along the lines of "If you aren't operating a CMV for longer than 6 months, you're suppose to give up your CDL"...

I've held onto it as a fallout plan too.
