I am Looking for a smaller cooler to mainly hold 10-12 , 12oz bottles of water, and lunch sandwich, and snack..
I have the passenger floor board for space in a frieghtliner M2 day cab... I am not a OTR, but diesel field tech so mainly used for lunches.

I am looking for answers to:
    - Do they keep items cold, some (Igloo) say 20 degrees less that cab temp. is that true? i don't want mayo to go bad...
-Igloo says it takes 6-8 hours to go from hot bottled water to cold... i wish not to leave it plugged in overnight unless i have too.
    -What brand do you suggest?

    Thanks for your suggestions

I used an Igloo for 6 months without any issues, that #### thing would even freeze things if I had the cab cold enough. The chinese fan on the outside started to get out within just a month, but it's still going strong now. Never had issues with anything spoiling in it so long as I made sure it didn't loose power. The only issue is it takes a few DAYS to get chilled down enough to be really useful. Only reason I replaced it is I "Upgraded" to an old minifridge my Dad wanted to get rid of.

I have 3 iceless coolers that I bought over the last 18 months for different purposes. All 3 still work. The first was a six-pack sized Road Pro cooler. Small, but it works just fine. That one is at home now. Next, I bought a tall but narrow (about as wide as a shoebox for my size 13s) Koolatron cooler, tall enough to put a 2-liter bottle in. I think that one might fit what you are looking for. Right now, that one sits between the seats. It also fits behind the seat in a Freightliner. No chance of that in a Kenworth, though. My third cooler is a Coleman full-sized cooler which is slid into the cubby designed for that purpose in my Kenworth. Haven't had that one very long, but so far, so good. One thing that will cause any of the coolers with a fan to fail is blocking the air intake. Whatever kind you get, make sure the fan can "breathe" by keeping the fan area clear.

With that larger Coleman cooler, you talking about the one that Loves always has on display? I've been eyeing one of those for a while.

Yes, the Coleman is the one that Love's always has. I don't think it would fit nicely on the floor anywhere in the truck. I haven't had mine for long, but since I read so many reviews about the Coleman not working for long, I made sure to buy the extended warranty. The only issue I have had with mine is having the inside around the cooling unit ice up. You have to unplug it for a while and let it defrost when that happens. Doesn't work well when it ices up.

I might have to look into getting one now, there's a good chance I'll be getting a T680. Would be a good alt to having a minifridge ratchet strapped to my upper bunk haha.
