Looks like stud pilot hubs with inboard drums.
W923, jamespmack, Crude Truckin' and 3 others Thank this. -
Ok, is there an advantage or disadvantage? What’s the purpose?W923 Thanks this.

But the studs look to small for that. I bet it has inner and outer lugs ( Budd ). Very odd and I have never seen that.Rideandrepair, W923, Jubal Early Times and 1 other person Thank this.

Makes it a pain in the ### to change brakesHammer166, The Railsplitter, W923 and 3 others Thank this.

If it has std bearings, swap it to hub pilot. cheaper and 10x easier to service.
-
And they are left hand thread and short. No way they a hub piloted.Rideandrepair and W923 Thank this.
-
Something usually goes wrong when I try something like that but it would be nice.Rideandrepair, RockinChair and Big Road Skateboard Thank this.

I've worked on alot of different things, with a good amount of old IH experiences. Never seen this. But I have a thought. 80's they built some trucks with disc brakes. Could this be the original disk, converted back to drum?
Never seen one in person. Heard descriptions. Seen trailers converted back. Never seem the trucks in person.
Idk, this is only my thoughts.homeskillet, W923, mile marker 27 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah, may not be possible with that one, never seen one. I have swapped plenty of budd's and spoke hubs to hub pilot on trucks and trailers.
