Yes I’ve seen them, actually forgot about them till you mentioned them. Definitely a thing of the past…!

I was driving the B model in this pic, we were all OS heading down to Louisina to the port with self contained mining equipment going to South America. It had a Cummins / 10 speed. They were fairly comfortable far as I’m concerned, and I’m not exactly a short person. This was in 1992 if my memory is correct….

I’m not sure what will fit. Or if anything will fit. Probably will have to start with the bearings. Figure out what size/part number they are then try to find a corresponding hub. Brakes should be basic off the shelf stuff. Once you find the bearings and hubs a drum won’t be hard to locate. In the longer term I’d be looking for an air ride cutoff. Or at a minimum a set of more modern rears.

It’s actually pretty good shape. My cousins husband owned this truck, I got in a horse trade with him and ended up with it. It set for a number of years, long enough that 4 injectors stuck on it (8V92T).

Freed them up, flushed and primed the heads with fresh diesel and added a new fuel filter with fresh fuel, rolled over 3 or 4 revolutions and fired up slick as a gut….

Does the axles have a I D tag on them? If so it should simplify your search.

Almost bet Zach @ Central city could cross it over with tag info or bearing part numbers either one….

I'd be doing as @Jubal Early Times suggested. You may be able to convert it, but a cutoff gets you air ride, gear ratio you want, and newer suspension. It would be easier to maintain in the future. May be hard to find a glove though cause those old frames are usually much smaller than todays trucks.

    Tape measure would tell quick

This truck has the straight frame but the B model in the pic with my hopper, has the stepped down(probably not the correct term) frame, behind the tanks.

    Absolutely agree.
Inboard drums, 11r24.5, budd wheels. You were in for a day of work for a brake job.

I believe @Catmando just finished a stretch on a 9670 that had that style of frame.
