Hate to break the news to you, but there are not any pet exclusions in the anti idle laws.

Not exactly true. The new religion of "Environmentalism" states that: "WE" can do what we please, because "WE" are wealthy enough to buy Carbon Credits, but "YOU" have to do what "WE" tell you to do. If that means "YOU" freeze in the winter, or over-heat in the summer, so-what. There are too many of "YOU" anyway and most of you need to "check-out" so "WE" can have it all to ourselves.

I would like to see the list of states that allow this. Most of the laws I looked at did not have the exclusion.

The state of CA is one of those states.

Here is part of the wording of that bill.

This is hilarious because you can already tax write off any business expense and depreciate it over several years if you so desire.
Unless I am missing some thing here the gooberment is really being stupid.

yeah there was something i couldn't find about that Idle Reduction Tax Act, i originally found an article about it in that ...THE TRUCKER Newspaper... and the truck Driver who wrote the Bill in the news paper had quoted that it also Mandated APU's in the law its self, but i was looking all last night at the bill and trying to find his article online n the Trucker newspaper but i couldnt find anything that said that it only talked about the tax break,

I still remember the headline to the article its "Congress still Mum on APU Law" or something to that effect but he did say in there it Mandated APU's, and thats the part of the law that I Cared about

I haven't had the chance to review the law, but tax credits are usually depreciated and receive a tax credit in the past.
    Example of credit

    8000 purchase item
-2000 to be used as a tax credit (Dollar for Dollar against tax)
    6000. to be depreciated.

A credit of tax dollar for dollar is usually better than a business expense write off.

When I get the chance, working on some returns later today, I will look more into this. If not, please don't hesitate to remind me.
