When I saw those towers being put up I wondered how long before Idleaire would have financial problems. One wonders if those towers will go the way of those yellow bumps still in some of the truck stops.

I knew they would as they wouldn't listen to anyone. Sad. We even TRIED all we could to get some type of dialog going with them so we could help each other and they wouldn't give us the time of day, just ignored us. Another one bites the dust and yet they come and go...one day, they'll listen to the drivers.

I used Idleaire a few times and had bad experiences with the performance.

The touch screens don't work very well especially for TV and entertainment controls. Last time I used it (I only buy it for A/C) the air-conditioning did nothing but blow 75 degree air even though I had it set on 65 (ran for 4 hrs and never got cool).

    who here remembers smell-a-vision?

I've never used I/A - never had the opportunity. Doesn't appear I'm missing much.

At a guess, I'd say their business model was .. flawed. Based, (another guess) on pipe dreams and wishful thinking. Rather like Ricochet, TerraBeam, and a host of others in the telecommunications fields

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/ AP) -- Knoxville-based IdleAire, which makes combination in-cab HVAC/ Internet/ TV units for big-rig truckers, has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company, started eight years ago, filed a report with the Securities and Exchange Commission saying they expected a $93 million net loss in FY2007 on about $37 million in revenue.
The bankruptcy papers say the company owes more than $303.5 million in debts, but has only a $210.8 million in assets.

WELL Well Now the poor truck stops will have to repaint their lots. and trash all that equipment. lets see it should take them 10 to 12 years. and we will have trucks running to the junk that is left behind.

I have used idle Air one time. no big loss.
