When I went to flatbed I would try to find a reefer set to continuous to park next to so I could sleep. As a kid I fished crab on the Bering Sea, there were a few occasions we killed the mains and auxiliary engines and just let her drift, nobody could sleep, lol.
I only idle the truck when I need to, and never sleep in a truck stop unless I have to!

40-50 degrees to you might be nothing, but a driver that use to more warmer climate might not, 50-60, I ok with, but 40! Sorry but I'm idlinglee2442 Thanks this.

Sorry, but I can never quite figure the logic in those that consider the 5 minute tiny stream of smoke that emits from a cigarette, say,, upwind 15' away, is 'considered' more hazardous than being sandwiched by two continuously running diesels pumping out hundreds/thousands of cubic feet of visible or invisible exhaust gasses.
Kinda like saying there's more danger in a swallowing ocean water that someone a 1/4 mile away put a drop of acid in it... versus...
a swallow of water where a tanker ship of acid spilled it's load a 1/4 mile away. jmolee2442, RVTransporter and truckon Thank this. -
I don't think you NEED to understand it.
If nothing else just think of it this way.
I don't like the smell.
Why should I open my windows and be subjected to it?
My Mom has smoked practically all my life, (there were a few failed attempts at quitting).
Now that I'm an Adult, I don't want anything to do with it.lee2442 Thanks this. -
You're correct, I don't NEED (just repeatin your original caps, not shouting) to understand your preferences.
However, I don't think this thread 'needed' your off-topic personal comment on that matter.
Your personal preferences on smokers had absolutely nothing to do with the OP's original post/thread. -
Wait till some guy does a Regen next to you at 4am.

On the cigarette smoke, I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, just the smell can and has made me throw up, even at 15' I can smell it and start to get nauseous, which is why I try to stay as far away from anyone smoking, I haven't always been allergic to it, and had the same opinion as you, but once I developed the allergic reaction, I understand why the law was past in lots of states
