many. if its marked less than 13.6 I will not drive under it. there may be (or not) 2-3 inches leeway. common sense !

When I was OTR years ago, my GPS took me to an overpass that said 13-6. I didnt want to go under it for obvious reasons. I had no choice so I threw on the hazards and crept under it on the absolute far left side (on-coming traffic). Motorists seemed ok considering it took me a couple to crawl pass the bridge. I was told by others afterwards that the height posted isnt accurate as there are so many variables (repaving of road, which area of road is measured, settling of road/overpass, so on). You learn as you go.

Lot of those low under passes in the Windy were dug out. I remember, if you talked to the local drivers, some 13'4"s could be gotten under if you hugged one side or the other. Sometimes it made a big difference than going all the way around it.

Those viaducts along the Tri-state at the Markham rail yards... When I was a kid they were 13'6" or a tad more, and when trailers got longer, they started getting hung up because the approaches were so steep (and close in,) that the tandem wasn't off the approach yet when the trailer went under.

I've hauled cars at 14' out of there a few years back.

I don't know about the swollen heads.

But you sure can lower your ### on the airride and gamble. =)

Im still shaking from that stupid arch stone bridge on 222 above the amish country. 10.6 in my lane and we all shot the #### thing in the middle ignoring on purpose a equally long and fast truck convoy intending to shoot the middle after the last one of us got through.

Maybe. The poor cars were trying to stay the hell out from under our wheels. We were such pigs....

The east west corridors too-Like- 59th st-47th st-95th st- Lake st-Chicago ave-Irving park rd- Fullerton and Armitage ave- North ave most of the way.

Its a Breeze now- I remember a lot of hair pulling in the late 80's and a lot of yelling and screaming.....

Maybe 14'2", but then again it maybe 12'9". You just can not believe them dependably.
