The French Separatists, attempted to be independent of Canada a few times. The surrender caucus decided the compromise would be English & French language.

I wish people would stop trying to equate a driver from Quebec or Mexico driving a Canadian or Mexican truck, respectively, being affected by the enforcement of the regulations; that is stupid.

This, as mentioned, is all about US CDL holders, no one else.

First, I do not agree with the memo from the USDOT/FMCSA, as it should be an OOS trigger. That leaves the door open for an officer to give a pass to someone. This should be an absolute OOS no matter what the situation is. I think the CVSA is going to be lenient for the officer if he/she does not put the driver OOS. Which brings up another problem with the CVSA itself, and how it determines what regulation to enforce.

The other thing is, I think after seeing some crap drivers recently who can't speak english, revoking CDLs is the only remeady for this crap. This should be done immediately by all states where the person needs to go to the DMV and take a test if they are not US citizens.

I have zero intention of going north of the border especially to Quebec, so as far as I’m concerned a pox upon whatever their language is.

Before my mother-in-law passed, she wanted to visit her distant relatives up in Quebec. It was decided that my wife and I would take her there for a few days and then bring her back home.

Now I know how to speak OK French, and my wife knows a hell of a lot of street swear words in French (Canadian version) that she had to endure from her mom and aunts yelling at them kids all the time. So we got to our destination without any problems. We dropped my mother-in-law off for a few days of visiting, and my wife and I went to a hotel to enjoy some time alone. When we went to the place, no one "spoke" English, and I wasn't going to speak French because I knew these people could speak English. So my wife struggled to get through to the desk clerk and when she was frustrated, she started to swear in French as my mother-in-law would at her kids when they screwed up. Well, the idiot clerk was surprised that someone was calling her a ***** and ******* ******* to her face, the clerk's attitude immediately changed, thinking my wife was from around there. She started to apologize in French (Canadian version), and I stepped in to get her to speak English, which she was now happy to oblige us.

I think if you come to Memphis you should know how to speak like your from the "Mid Souf." Other forms of country speak and inner city jargon are accepted too. You're right. Fair is fair.

If you are from Bahhhhston or Juysey, you should learn that "Cawfee Tawk."

Thats fine. If i cant understand the rules maps signs and warnings on your roads or the commands your law enforcement give, then i bloody well shouldnt be driving on them. And if i do anyway and cause a wreck you could and SHOULD prosicute me to the fullest extent of the law allowable upto and including death pentalty if whatever i do warrents such say.....killing an entire family?

That goes double if i were to uproot myself move to your country and try to make a living and a life there. Telling someone you need to accomidate ME dispite coming to YOUR home and being pissed you want me to learn YOUR rules and YOUR language instead of you changing yours to MINE dispite my coming to your home because its supposifly better is a dickish move at best.

So have at it i say.

That would be a great point if Quebec wasn't legally a bilingual province.
