My 5.0L F150 has gotten just shy of 22 mpg on a few trips. I'd say we can achieve 30 in a few years. I mean 20 years ago you'd be lucky to break 15 mpg in a fullsize.

From what I've read, the order only applies to cars, SUVs, and light trucks. It has until 2025 to be cancelled. In the event it's not cancelled, I'm 99% certain there will be exemptions handed out like candy or an easy loophole for anyone to exploit. The automotive industry is going to fight it as well as the gas industry.

The gas and oil industry has a lot of influence in Colorado. I saw countless "vote no to 112" signs and bumper stickers, and not a single "vote yes". Their campaign was based around jobs being lost, when the reality was that no jobs were in jeopardy. They just weren't going to be able to have as much growth as they wanted. It wasn't going to impact me whether it passed or not, but I just wish there wasn't so much misinformation on that large of a scale.

Considering that the fuel economy standard was an executive order, I was wrong to assume that the current governor wouldn't support it, since he's the one that signed it. I still think he's kind of a scumbag for even entertaining the idea of scrapping a proposition if the people he's supposed to represent decided to pass it.

Most people I know with the big expensive new 1 ton diesel pickups never put them to work anyways. I always kid them and tell them they should of just removed the trunk lid from there wifes sedan and call it a truck for what they do. Guess it's one of those compensation things for some guys

Lol of course i ,and most everyone likes clean air. Either you haven't been ,or don't want to pay attention. Huge number of gallons wasted to tow and reschedule when the pos junk breaks down. Oh and more fuel used to haul tanker loads of def fluid to trk stops etc. Ever park beside a def trk with a weed burner exhaust, that stuff will gag you too after awhile. I say, when they get them perfected, then i'm on board. Just don't shove this high $ maintenance crap down my throat. Save mother earth, and drink the kool-aid.

My question is, if the current standards are helping, why can't they just leave the old stuff alone and let them die slowly? To me them wanting to just ban and not anybody drive something older tells me everything they've been shoving down our throats hasn't been helping that much.

You are correct. Law of average says older trks will die out eventually. Mayby "they" will figure out how to keep them out of the trk hospital due to epa crap. Or not?

That lead fuel and violent crime!!?? Thats the most stupid thing i have ever seen in a long time. My father ran gasoline powered semis (3-4 trucks) a small fleet for years. When wrenched on them we used a gas bucket (yes leaded) to wash parts, tools and our hands. Many many times over. He will be 90 years old in april, and im 62. Neither he or i have been prison for violent crimes. Oh, and he is in pretty good health. So am i matter of fact.

They also like you to have a trk payment. You won't be taking as many days off.

Actually Volvo is one of the few that will go 1M+ with their Emissions motors no problem.

It's been very common for the D13 to go 1.2-1.5 no problem with normal PMs ...

Injector cups is another story lol.

But you must remember, they have been using (3) oil filters for some time now because they recognize all the soot contamination in the oil from Emissions.

One of the filters Volvo has is a bypass filter to polish the oil clean.
