I would nix the 70 completely.

It's worthless as an OTR and unnecessary for local/regional.

That's right hours that could be be in the bunk, instead of watching your driving time disapear while the folks that are loading or unloading are off on lunch or break:biggrin_25510:

Mandatory weekly audit? Passive EOBR? Reading the ECM in addition to the AOBRDs that everyone on the machine has now, would almost satisfy the coming mandate, but I haven't seen much routine reading of ECMs other than event captures done by Qcomm/Peoplenet.

The tinkering with the reset does nothing,i.e., if you can get more than one reset in a week the resets are not helping you run more, you are actually running much less. The two midnight to 6 periods in a restart attempt to make sure most resetting is done at night and will add even more to congestion and screw up those of us delivering to places in the wee hours so the delivery drivers can deliver in the early morning hours, and is just placating fools who are too unenlightened to figure that out for themselves. I prefer to run at night but you have to make what you do fit with pickups and deliveries, meaning I don't run that hard doing the Chicago shuffle and I run any time of the day or night as needed within the hours of service rules. Sakes and planning are the ones I detest because they don't take contingencies into account when planning the disasters they hand to dispatch. They don't ask how long drivers will have to sit with FCFS and how double booking loads affects appointments for delivery and pickup.

I won't address the rest of it because I have wasted enough time reasoning things that will matter not a bit to the ones deciding what we will be forced to do.

    BTW, thanks Wargames.

ill stick with the current hos. but w/ no EORB and add 2hr to the restart so it will be 11/14/70/36. it makes a full day and half reset.
once we get Lahood out we can get someone in that understands where we stand as drivers.

Why do all these "know better than everyone else" types have to continuously meddle with anything? Geez people, leave it as it is, most are used to it, it works, and I'm an old guy, I really don't want any more change in my life.:biggrin_25512:
