I went through a truck driving school and got hired through covenant transport. Drove with them for 8 months. I believe november 2011 was my last time driving. I got hired onto a new company and failed the drug test for marijuana. The s.a.p program was over 500 dollars plus I heard its still hard to get hired after completing it so I never did. But someone is telli g me that they need drivers really bad in North Dakota. Is it possible that I can get a driving job there if I went through the s.a.p program? I also have a ticket that I havent paid yet which is for failure to stop at a weigh station in agusta georgea.
If I get my CDL back, can I drive in North Dakota?

Unlikely anyone will hire you until that ticket is paid. If you're stopped you will be put out-of-service and whoever owns the truck you're driving won't be too happy. I don't know about the oil field companies but there are a couple of OTR companies that will give you another chance.
mje Thanks this. -
Hey thanks alot I really appreciate that!

Unlikely you'll be hired at all. You failed a drug screen (amazing) and you're a liability now. Good luck in your next career choice, maybe you can grow up and learn from what you just threw away.

Yup. He's proven to be so responsible thus far. Smh.

If you still smoke marijuana this industry is not for you. -
I doubt you'll be given a chance until you complete the SAP evaluation and 7 years has passed. A few might go 3 years. Another thing they will look at is why is this guy procrastinating the SAP? That doesn't look good. You say money they'll think you're still smoking.
You can always move to CO and get a job in a grow house!
But seriously if you are serious you need that SAP and more time. -
Nope. Not at all

Haha ok thanks alot I appreciate that. Yeah I was only 21 back then. Got schedualed for usa trucking orientation. I took a puff like an idiot thinking I can get lucky but the opposite happened. I mean it isn't nearly as bad as the drivers currently on the road who are smoking crystal meth as we speak. I was even parked next to a guy at the pilot in Nashville, the guy dipped his cigarette in a bag of liquid and lit it back up, then sped off to go to the fuel pump.
