Yeah I mean if you add everything up it's not a bad deal at all. Now if I just had something that didn't use gasoline...

Nothing happening today. The room is nice and it beats the heck outta sleeping in the car. Was gonna watch Manziel play some football but can't find the game on the tv.
I've been thinking lately that I wish I had found a company that pays weekly. I'll have to go another month before I get a full check. Not sure of the reasoning for withholding the first check. I know a lot of oilfield companies do that though. I asked around and just about everyone said that their company did the same thing. Sounds like they don't care about their employees to me, but I'm just a driver.
Chibob Thanks this. -
Once you work for a week or two you might try asking for a draw. They might give you a couple hundred on a com check.

did you ask if u will only be driving, sometimes they want u to do manual labor at the well i think, also do they provide any training to rookies?
i just got my cdl but m not feeling it because it was only using 20 ft trailers and automatics, looking to head out with a o/o for more training, also getting my endorsements.. -
Even with all my company's faults I see now that it has another positive because I got my first check only nine days after I started working, I had three days in that pay period. We're paid twice a month.

Well I will be getting 1/3 of my $3000 bonus after two weeks, so after taxes probably around $700 or so. That will get me thru until payday.Chibob Thanks this.

Yes, only driving. Everyone I've talked to said it's a pretty easy job. We'll see. I'll let y'all know when I get started. I think this company wants you to have some experience. I have seen ads from some companies(don't remember where) saying that they would train you if you had a cdl.unloader Thanks this.

Yeah we're also paid twice a month. I don't really like that but, oh well. I've gotten used to getting paid weekly for the last 14 years or so. I'll just have to budget a little more. I'm pretty good when it comes to saving usually anyway.

TaserTot, I'm following your thread every day. I want to get my tanker endorsement and head down there to haul water. I only have six months experience though, but at this point what I'm reading, if your down there knocking down doors and actively looking for a job... you'll find one. I think I'm gonna head down and do this myself in two weeks.
Best of luck.
