The old superliners are pretty neat, know a guy who's got one with a 300 cummins, 4.42 gears, and 9 speed, won't set any speed records but will pull anything.MACK E-6, x1Heavy and Rideandrepair Thank this.

For those that don't met these 500's yet here is a sound of work. Its a little bit of australian mountain time on this one down and up.
clausland Thanks this. -
i have been enjoying driving the 2020 anthem mp8 12 speed auto.
at 5000 miles at the fuel island 2 screws fell out the interior. one disappeared under truck and i have not located where they came from
first week left window switch comes apart
this affects mirror heat/fm radio static mirror motor.
need to tighten everything with torx head before sending truck out
this is a 300 truck fleet with cheap window switches
they do mack warranty work which makes it worse because it takes forever to go their process and get free cheap window switchesBrettj3876 Thanks this. -
I’d imagine so with that gearing.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Ahem...

autopaint, Cat sdp, homeskillet and 3 others Thank this. -
Used to be a straight truck milk hauler up in Minnesota, not sure why they though they needed that sort of gearing there.x1Heavy Thanks this.

He was pulling containers with it in a city with some really beat up roads. Everytime I complimented him on that truck he would tell me how much he loved it but everyone else would complain about it and would not drive it.
It was a really short truck like this.
autopaint, homeskillet, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Crap like that never happened to the real Macks.
You know, I kid the Peterbilt Folk... because they're Peterbilt Folk! ( Eddie Murphy said something similar in the beginning of RAW).
There are internet hoaxes going around about Peterbilt supposedly being the best made truck... SMH...
Myself, I love my Freightliner for parts for the ride for the comfort for the turning radius and a bazillion other reasons.
But honestly the real Mack trucks that are the real Mack Trucks didn't have the Comfort level and as said earlier they were kind of heavy, but hands down they win the trophy of best truck ever made. Especially the B model and the R model.
Really I should say the best dump truck ever made. The heavy duty-ness was so perfectly Suited to dump trucks, along with the torque coming on at such low RPMs.Last edited: Feb 15, 2020
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I’m not scared. I’d drive it.

I’d rather do flatbed or lowboy work with a truck like that though. The trailer flex under a good load softens the ride a bit.
