    So here’s a little hypothetical.

If you had a choice to get any truck ( almost, there are rules ) with the specs you would want, what would you choose?

Money is not an issue but fuel efficiency IS!!

    Rules:

    1. Has to be a normal truck, no flat nose, 1 off random truck from Europe ( etc )

    2. Has to be easily available in Canada / USA with having most places being able to work on it

    3. Choose the type of truck ( new, Used, glider )

    4. Pick the specs, engine choice, transmission, rear ends

    And go.

Strictly fuel mileage? And I’m assuming pulling a van or reefer. I’d buy a Cascadia or Volvo off the lot and go trucking.

If focusing on fuel mileage I'd go with a Volvo 860 Globetrotter, 500 hp D13 with I-shift, turbo compounding and maybe the adaptive loading option.

If not focusing on fuel mileage I'd pick a pre ELD / glider Pete 379 or 389 with 500+ horses backed by a 13 or 18 speed.

    Rideandrepair and blacklabel Thank this.

You took the words out of mouth....fuel mileage wise, I'd say Volvo wins easily.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.
