I don't think there should be ANY speed limit or anything to limit one's speed. Should be a personal choice IMO.CorsairFanboy, 401-Alex and RockinChair Thank this.

95% of the roads I drive on are only 100 km/h (62 mph) anyways so I could really give a rat's behind if they implemented speed limiters up here. Never been pulled over for speeding and don't intend to start now.

Prepare for a long wait. Ontario hasn’t figured it out yet. Even if they have they’ll never admit they killed that many people for purely political reasons and rescind it.

We're good. We have more than one skill set. The other is just a lot more like work.
I absolutely think everyone will be putting their own life in someone else's hands though. -
You really need to spend a couple days on the 401. Two days of that you’ll realize how you react to it changes #### all. It’s not like working your way around the Reimer and WestCan trucks and going about your business anymore. Not when every truck on the highway is limited to the same speed, with idiots in most of them. I’ve been running 7, 5 and 3 across Ontario for ten years now. My nerves won’t take having as many trucks as close to me as in that ####show on 401.401-Alex, MACK E-6, nredfor88 and 1 other person Thank this.

So it sounds like where it has been implemented in Canada it causes more accidents because trucks start to tailgate since they are all going the same speed. This makes changing lanes to exit/merge more difficult for cars and automobile drivers become more aggressive and cut off trucks causing more accidents and fatalities.
Interesting.
The law of unintended consequences at work.
Hopefully American bureaucrats pay attention, but it's doubtful.401-Alex and Northern Nomad Thank this. -
What they limit it at doesn’t matter. It’s having all of them limited at the same speed that causes the chaos. Imagine the frustration of not being able to get a bobtail tractor around a loaded truck. Every truck on the highway at the same speed with their stupid and e-log mania fully engaged. Think about that for a minute, and then throw a million frustrated road raging 4 wheelers in the middle of it. That’ll make safe highways alright.

So essentially it's trucks driving like idiots and not the speed limiter. Gotcha.
