If the tax break for "driver training" goes away, how would that affect turnover & CDL mills?

I just read a post about some driver's trip though orientation, looks like little has changed since I did it.

Somebody asked, "how do companies make money with all these orientation classes every week?"

Now at some point in the next year and a half, we the great unwashed will choose another idiot to reside in the world's most prestigious public housing unit.

And not that it's very likely, but sometimes when the people demand that the government "DO SOMETHING!!!" well, they do. (For good or ill)

So what happens if somebody cuts the cushy tax break for companies that "job train"?

What happens when trucking companies actually need to make money from delivering product and not from taking people off the streets and putting them, well, ON the streets?

    Just thinking out loud here.

I can see a few things.
With the banks refusing to lend at such low interest rates, enrollment in private CDL academies will plummet. Companies will have no reason to reimburse the schooling either.

They think there's a driver shortage now lol. Without the churn and grind, training companies are going to have to get their heads out of their posteriors or go bankrupt.

Pay and rates will go up. Companies will be forced to treat drivers better. In the biggest extreme, shippers will be forced to load on time, or take the chance a driver will just make a phone call for another load and split.

Of course it will never happen. :)

As long as people line up every week, for a $1200, truck, rent payment...companies will always have, trucks, drivers, and profits.
