I have not mentioned it here since I watched a 60 year old man that smoked like a chimney, and had stints in his heart pass it.
Did not think it would be an issue lol.

if they are hurting that bad for drivers, one would think that they would start taking student grads that have the PTDI certification.
-
They will never take drivers with less than one year experience. It is not a good move for any company to do that. It lowers the quality of freight available and lowers rates you can charge.
Also the insurance company's do not like it.
They will get the drivers they need eventually. They just have to fix the accessory pay again. And look at a few policy's, like not paying practical mile pay.
They do that they will have driver lining up to come to them again like it was several years back.
I would like to see pay go up, but since it is already high for the industry I do not see the per mile rates going up, and if they went to practical mile pay it would not be needed.
Also, they are only looking for that many drivers because they did not hire as many during the down turn. They went from 2900 drivers to 2300. They are just in the process of building back up. -
I guess I'm just a bad fit for heartland then. When the policies, rude and incompetent office people and sitting without being able to idle at 76 degrees(94 degrees in the truck),makes one miss Swift, one can only think WTF

It works for me so far. I am working to find a good go around on the idle shutdown.
I know that one is there, just have not worked it out yet.
If I have too I know a way around, but would rather not do it that way.
I am just banking my idle for now and when/ if I slow down more I will fix the issue.
Sitting in Columbus getting service now. Not sure when I will get out of here. -
Wow, I thought they used to pay practical miles. No Idle at all?
On the 29th I will have 1 yearaccident ,and violation free, and they had an ad in the local Ga paper for ATL regional,I guess maybe I will stay with Atlas,at least I can idle all I want(never shut the truck off),and if I'm under dispatch 7 days ,and don't get 2500 we get a guaranteed 875. per week ,just no health insurance, smaller company. -
You can idle with the International 9400 all the time, but with the Prostars you can only idle below 50 or above 77. As of right now, every new driver gets the 9400's and you will receive a Prostar after 60 days. Either way they want you to keep the Idle down below 25%. They will complain to shut down your truck with the 9400's. On the Prostar"s if your idle is above 25% they will shut your speed down to 62.
For a while my prostar was not idiling at all even when it was 92 degrees outside, but I learned how to fix that. I just bought a 12V fan so I hardly ever idle unless its outrageously hot outside. We will see how winter works out... -
I just started at Heart Land this week and got my truck yesterday. I got one of the pro stars and im based out of Jax. So far thay got me home today after i ran my first load so i can pick up my stuff for the truck and have me already pre planed for another load picking up tomorrow nite and delivers sat morning. After that my truck has to go to the dealership to be fixed. So far i like what iv heard and have heard driver crying in Jax and heard drivers loving it there. Rob313 is rite about the trucks kicking off after idleing for a few mins mine does the same but im gonna have them rest the computer on it cause i guess the other driver always had it running or somthing who knows. but so far it seems good there.

Heres how you get it to idle...
Note this only works when its in the temps the computer will allow.
When the light comes on the dash for the auto shutdown, put the pedal to the floor and it will idle up to 1000 and stay idleling. Try it out I bet it works cause it works for me.Klown Thanks this. -
Thanks ill try that. Someone also told me that what that light comes on press the clutch 2 times and it will stay idleing.
