That's right . Read the quarterly reports of the major carriers and they are all "right sizing " their fleets , parking thousnds of trucks . So why do they keep hiring ? Because drivers keep quitting . Today's newbies will fill seats abandoned by yesterday's newbies .

 

I do believe your right with out 2nd guessing. I looked, read, search and maded phone calls. That's just it, Alot of these smaller comanies only have a few trucks. With the big companies down sizing, So are the smaller companies. With less loads to haul, Most companies are not hiring.When you have the market being flood by exp. trucker with 1,2,3,4 years of exp. Owners/Oper.Leasing there trucks out to these bigger companies just to make truck payments. I talked to one who said his was a 600.00 month the payment only. Not anythang else. I've looked over 80 days. Alot has to do with economy and facted that I live in Florida panhandle. Just not alot of hiring going on here. I had two offers on the table One fell apart.and the other is covenant. I do know what is said by fromer trucker. No miles, 14cent a mile when get some. Sit for ever than run, sit ,run. 2400 one week than 300 next. Sounds not so good!! But! I've been watching and listening. I do believe the economy is turning around. Which it will show in truck loads increasing. Did you hear about that guy that put all his money in railways. He some big invester. I do believe he bought one of the biggest train company. He believe the economy turning around and he wants to be in the right place when it does.I know I should have more facts on that. Sorry. What I'm trying to says is by the time I strave my self back down to 170 pds, With miles in the driver seat. Training over. When the ecomony is in a full turn around hitting trucking first. I'll be in the right place at the right time. I'll be screaming for some of that down time and just sit. Train now, turn and burn next in 6 moths. What do you thank.
