That's just what everyone called it when they punched holes in the roof. Installing a skylight.
If you back into something and hit it, is it a preventable accident if there is no damage?

Just to explain myself, I was spotting in a day cab at a customer that had really tight docks and way way way too many trailers dropped there. The company whose trailers they were bought a bunch of old JB HUNT trailers and the door latches were a different style that obviously didn't keep the doors held to the trailer and had break away hinges. It was always the passenger site that got knocked off as I was pulling out the dock making a left, so I couldn't see down the passenger side of the trailer.
I funny part of the story is, turns out the general manager of the trucking company is my neighbour and he could never understand why a bunch of their trailers either only had 2 working hinges or were missing door hinges all together. We were talking at a another neighbors BBQ many years later when the whole story came out.G13Tomcat, bzinger, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
There is a rule for that. No harm unless someone runs out HEY YOU HIT MY *&^%%
A little tap or scrape does not mean it's preventable. But you must not get caught. In today's survillence world you likely will.
Don't hit anything.
One of the most annoying problems I ever had was a little pipsqueak who ran a curb ruining his wheel after making it almost to where I was U turning a third of a mile above the light he was at. My boss needed about ten days to get rid of that ankle biter. I took the u turn and in the time for me to finish it he was there. For that to happen he had to have really stepped on it. (And did)
I was not charged with that particular mess but it was a problem. He ran hisself into the curb about two telephone poles away from me.ChicagoJohn Thanks this. -
Here is a stupid question, how is this a preventable when the switcher isn't on the road and for the most part deals with the company policies, not the dot?

If a yard dog pulls a trailer out of the door before the brakes release and ruins $3500 worth of tires, is it a preventable?

** Definition: "Accident" ( anytime any part of your vehicle comes in contact with anything other than the road surface )
The spotter still did damage to the trailer even though you can't see it. If you were involved, deny everything....if you weren't, get video and extort cash.... ( just kidding lol ) -
