...and don't forget to read the friggin lease before you sign it. Might have helped if the OP had understood it as well.

Why do people do any number of things, like leasing a new car or sending their money to TV preachers? They are generally trusting, if not gullible to the point that they allow themselves to be talked into something by a smooth talker.

I may try to talk somebody out of something, but after the fact there is nothing to be gained by piling on. They feel bad enough already. Besides, most folks are going to do what they are going to do anyway,

Hold on a minute. "They are generally trusting...?" This is business, not some sort of social self-help agency. In business, you are expected to be an adult, looking out for your own interests, and ensuring that any contract you sign is in your own best interest. If you walk into a room to enter a business deal "trusting," you're going to get reamed. Either you've done your homework up front and assured yourself that the revenue stream is adequate to support your contractual obligations, or you need to pass on it.

I didn't say otherwise and no need to lecture me. I merely said everybody doesn't have the mindset you just described. I agree they shouldn't be getting involed in certain affairs for which they are not qualified without proper guidance.

As long as there have been sheep there have been wolves. And yes, there are folks who are more trusting and less cynical by their very nature. And everybody doesn't do their homework either, Mr. Guidance Counsellor.

I'm just saying that there is no need to kick sand in anybody's face after they have already screwed up.

No need to get snippy... but if you're going to post something about being "trusting" you should expect to get a bit of a reply. "Trusting" is what leads people to assume a document they're looking at is what they want it to be - not what it is. Now I'm not going to suggest that Prime is perfect by any means - they are a business looking out for themselves. If one is going to step into one of these leases, then they'd better be prepared for what they're going to get themselves into.

What is wrong with me using that word? You act as if I uttered a blasphemy. The man trusted the people that snookered him. It happens to most of us at some point in all of our lives, whether it be in our personal or pressional dealings.

Prime didn't "snooker" the OP - he did it to himself, IMO. There are plenty of folks doing just fine under their lease system - and its a straight lease not a lease/purchase contract. Without seeing his settlements (I wonder if he ever bothered to reconcile them himself?) we'll never know.

Just like every job in the world. Some goto work love their jobs and have no complaints while others goto work and the same thing doesn't work out for them.

Lots of things affect how a Lease works (here is a few important ones)
    1. Is there freight available to haul consistantly that will make you money
    2. FM (do they know how to plan a truck)
    3. Driver (do they know how to Plan a truck)
    4. Breakdowns (nothing you can do about this except hope it's not your truck and it doesn't happen frequently)
    5. How to Manage Your Money and spend as little of it as possible.

Are you going to fly a S-64? I wish I had more hours and a chance like that. I have about 600hrs, but have not flown a helicopter in years.

Good luck and try to keep the 10000 moving parts from crashing. :biggrin_25525:
