If you could improve anything about the interior of your semi truck what would it be?

What is the deal with the sunflower seeds in the trucks? Why can I never seem to get into a truck that doesn't have these things all over the place? Doesn't seem to matter how clean or dirty the truck is, I always find sunflower seeds.

Got my current truck just under three weeks ago and I have been cleaning it every day trying to remove the filth from the last driver. I am finding sunflower seeds everywhere and there seems to be close to a bags worth in that crack behind the dash where you can see them but can't fit anything down there to clean out the mess.

If you want to design a better truck interior, take note that a lot of drivers keep a bag of some kind of food on their dash, whether it is sunflower seeds, Cheetos, or whatever. Think about where it goes when it spills and either eliminate that tiny crack of space behind the dash where stuff can fall and you can't fit to clean it out, or make it bigger so you can get your hand in there. Oh, maybe also replace all the velour with vinyl. It's impossible to clean the filth of an earlier driver off the velour, but it wipes off easily from vinyl.

Actually the prostar has several of those things standard Everett.
The soft light is a set of red lights at floor level. Not bright but you can see the floor and things when it is dark.
Radio controls, cruise control, jake, light interrupts etc. All on the steering wheel.
Does not seem like a truck this way though. More like a car.
No pedal adjust, but steering wheel goes in, out, up, down etc. So slide the seat forward if you need too.
You can get an optional heated seat.
No floor heat that I know of, but an under bunk heater keeps the floor pretty warm.
You can probably find heated pads for steps somewhere. I never looked.
No heated windshield, but you can get heated wipers.

I want some way to keep the crap off my mirrors on this thing. If you use the wipers everything that gets cleaned from the windshield goes onto them. Then you cannot see.
I have noticed this in just about every truck that has those new style enclosed mirrors. But this is about the inside of the truck. So that goes somewhere else.

Tie a long thin piece of rag to the mirror arm & to the outside of it, Once your moving the wind flicks it around to front of mirror & it keeps your mirror clean as you drive ! Used it a lot in UK, Most truckers there do. :biggrin_25525:

long time ago i saw mirrors with little wipers--they were old and didnt work--and probabely never did work good
i have always thought keeping a big squirt gun to hit the right mirror would be good--the left i just try and splash with water while driving--then get the pit freeze as i try and wipe it

How About outside the truck security options that might help to deter thieves and what not? Cameras would help with this as long as they have the ability to record. And Maybe some of those surveillance stickers stating that "you are being recorded". Just a thought.

why dont we just keep it simple but functional.

i wouldnt want all the touch screens and cameras, just regular guages, a decent radio, and nice seats.

anything more just drives up the cost of already overpriced trucks.

Change all interior gauge lights to be red. My Toyota is like that and I love the fact that it is not distracting at night

I look the red footwell lights but I also would like if that red glow extended to the cup holder area. Makes reaching for the coffee or lip balm or whatever you keep on that little shelf way easier at night.

More room at the door to take your boots off.
