I'm typing this from Emergency room....
I am all right, the test are looking good. The heart attack test is being repeated but the enzymes or the lack of shows no heart attack so far.
    I am 49 years old 6'6" Male and 275lbs.
I am not invincible any more. I took my family on vacation last week and yesterday we drove over 1100 miles from Rawlins, Wy back home, the last leg of our return route.
I and my wife drove it together taking turns.
We arrived at 2 am. I slept some and felt all right in the morning, even booked a juicy load.
As I was ready to go to my truck, I felt something I had never experienced before. Shortness of breathing, dizziness, heavy chest... I thought I was having a heart attack. Ambulance was called and I carried out on a cart.

Me?! The big bull like guy carried out?!

BUT If it was a heart attack??? What then ... what if I can't drive.. what to do? Too young too retire, too old to learn a different trade.
What to do to provide for the family? What to do?

It was a stress and fatigue. Thank you Dear God!
I am being discharged and going home.

It was a big Wake up call!!!
    Diet!
    Exercise!
    Healthy hygienic sleep!

Take it easy with the work load too !

You guys are not invincible either, especially if you are pushing 50.
You had better take it easy too.

Take care of yourself. I think we should all take a lesson from this.

I am actually writing this on day one of my all meat and green vegetable diet for the next month, so that's as good of timing as any.

    #### Joe sorry to hear that and hope you recover well enough to get back to work soon. It sounds like you're lucky and got a second chance. I'm only 5 years behind you and trying to change my eating habits concerned about this maybe happening to me. It's hard though. For me it is harder than quitting smoking was. I enjoy eating good food.

Trucking and poor diet got me put on blood pressure meds about 15 years ago. Fricken covid shut everything down and we're all sitting at the house for months just eating and drinking beer. I shot up almost 40 lbs to 250 lbs. Never been so big in my life. Probably need to shed about 65 lbs ideally. I'm starting to feel it my knees hurt like hell some days and they never used to. Anyways, good luck, we'll pray for you.

Sounds familiar.... did you throw a clot by chance? Make sure they check your lungs for embolisms. Had an Uncle die from that at 44, got mine at 49, was lucky the clots went left instead of right, or It would have been pushing daisies...

Last month we had a driver who was 55 pass away at home from a heart attack . He wasn’t overweight or lazy but he did live a heavy drinker lifestyle in his younger days till he was 40ish not sure if that had any effect on his heart attack. That’s the 4 th driver I’ve worked with who heart attacks got them . It’s pretty sobering thought about health for sure.

Who ever heard of a truck driver with too much stress? My mom always said, "life is like walking behind a shooting gallery, and trying not to get hit". You can have all the prevention in the world, and still fall over. It's in the cards. What are you eating? If I trucked today, I'd have a fridge, and as much healthy stuff I could fit in. It's salt. Just look at all the salt. I bought a "Dinty Moore" beef stew, that frinkin' thing has FIFTY % of a daily salt intake,,,50%!!! And that's just one item. Reataurant food is even worse, so they sell more soda. Good luck, pal, and leave those ER nurses alone,,:love4:
