If you get CDL-A can you then drive any CDL class

    I had it once, but I let it go, I don't need it where I am now. Many companies prehire and will get you moving without it expecting you to get it sooner or later, many of the van companies want their drivers to have haz-mat

    yup - I have my hazmat. Cost me $90 and took 8 days (I'm not counting the test - that was bout 5 minutes). It was worth it.

    My company doesn't haul much Haz, but the possibility is there. If my number comes up, I'd rather the load didn't go to another driver because I'm not allowed to take it. I'm told they are sweet loads (contract job - so we drivers do know what to expect) - not heavy, and long haul.

    Beats the heck out of hauling beer over mountain passes
