I'm not sure if a poll like this has been offered before in the forum. I haven't been able to find one if it exists. I know that this is a very open-ended, subjective question but, if you choose to participate in this poll, please try to be as objective as possible. Put away your biases as best you can. Respond to the poll as if you absolutely had only these five companies to choose from: Roehl, Swift, Prime, JB Hunt, Werner.
What I'd like to discover are the companies that drivers (i.e., the people that really know) have the best good-feeling toward. If this poll creates enough response perhaps it can be continued and, through process of elimination, reveal what drivers believe to be the best 5-10 companies.
Again, try to be as objective as possible. Think about factors such as the training, benefits, miles, facilities, equipment, etc. Thanks to any and all who participate!
If you had no other choices, which of these 5 companies would you choose to work for?

I really can't be unbiased because I work for Swift and have never worked for the other four. Everything I know about the others is hearsay. My selection criteria for Swift was simple- they were the first one to call. I've been happy with them so I stayed.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
If you haven't already done so, vote for Swift if you feel good about them. I want to get as many responses as I can. If a driver votes for their own company, great! Just means they are happy there!

I noticed a lot of folk picking Roehl. I think they are probably fine to work for, but their hire process stinks if you are new. They came to my school to pretty much tell us we were too late to apply. They were like three months out on their hiring, and you can't be out school more then 60 days to get a job there. So I found that to be totally useless.
I picked Werner based on the all around best deal. The pay is standard for a start up company. The have probably the best equipment for that size of a company with things like APCs etc.. There training is rather lengthy but should get almost anyone up to speed before being set free...Their insurance is great, starts after 30 days, and even covers lasix eye surgery...and the employee contribution isn't that much.
Prime wont hire you if you'd been unemployeed more then 5 months....it took me that long to get funding from the state and complete training....so to me this is unreasonable when the rest of your work history is rock solid.
As for the others I can't say much.JustSonny Thanks this. -
