Thnx to you Oldnewbiegonnabe (which sounds kinda like Obi Wan Kanobi, I know a Star Wars reference?).
as a wannabe trucker I appreciate you orchestrating this poll so that guys like me can get a better understanding of the trucking industry before we get started.

If these were my only choices I would quit driving....... I would not put up with any of there feces and they are all about equal. My home time and family time is more valuable to be than any load.

    Thanks Nana,
Although Swift has not shined in the poll you seem to have prospered with them. I've got a pretty good idea how you did that. Your posts and threads show your positive view on life. Thank you for that - it's very refreshing. AND you are #### funny!!!
    God bless you and yours,
    Oldnew...

I will tell you that you have no idea of what your headed for. At 20 years old you belong in college, studying IT or Business management.

I will tell you that most companies will run you harder than you thought possible, for less pay by the hour than flippin burger at Mickey D's.

Cold and or Hot sleepers, lonely Holiday meals. driving when your dangerously tired. Not getting home for days that are important to you. But if your really a good driver then maybe you'll get a day off every couple of weeks in a city you could care about.

Most companies don't have the freight to run anybody very hard . I've read a lot of posts complaining about low miles and low pay .

If we're going to bring off the road work into it, I'd change my vote from driving swift trucks to towing swift trucks. And all other trucks. And cars, barns, giant fuel tanks, etc. I've yet to see a recession that could put a dent in the business of hauling wreckage off the highways.
