the pay went up 6cpm day i quit, they were playing head games with me telling me that parking was assigned now, so if u were driving that month, u missed the hand out of ur parking assigned spot. where go from there? their equipmnt is not the EZ turn trks of roehl, jbhunt frghtliner
columbias.werner uses the wider turn radius century classics, weigh more too! but their hq terminal lots generally bigger, helped on Fri/sat nites. nowadays i move 'em closer, the toodistant unhooked trlrs that i can create a spot when i move em. spare time to help othr drivr find a late nite park spot quicker

Every company on the poll is a bottom feeder throw the names in a hat and choose one !! -
I, for one, am still belching from uncooked turkey, and seeing those in the poll doesnt help even tho I downed aBUNCH of Alka Seltzer. But, ya hafta start with SOMEBODY. Maybe I'll start a poll with my own personal suggestions and their benefits(even tho all drivers have different priorities in their searches). Picking the best from the bad takes research and the willingness to think...NOT "throw in the towel"... "Well, heck, I might as well go with them" or "OMG, I got bills to pay and 3kids, Im grabbing with what I can".(You go on that premise, and you really shouldnt be at this website, its for the UNinformed and ILLinformed NOT the "Giver-Upers", if your a "Gvr-Upr", you'll just be right back here. Newbie Note: While checking into a Company for training/schooling, you'd better worry about what the "Instructor-To-Student" and "Truck-To-Student" ratios are. Do they REALLY give you undivided attention(training) or is there 15 Students to every ONE Trainer? Is there 5 trucks available for training with 30 Students to train? Marketing "fine print" of just HOW many hours you drive JUST might mean you get a whooping 2hours a day IN the Truck driving(maybe), while your stuck IN the truck watching TOOTOO many OTHER students drive, you dont wannabe(no pun intended
) the one running along side the truck cause theres NO ROOM to sit..
Maybe I'll start another poll entitled "The TRUTH behind the "FINEPRINT" and how to decipher what you THOUGHT you read, and what they REALLY meant".kickin chicken and JustSonny Thank this. -
Yo Ford,
Missed ya the last couple of days! Sounds like you had your own Gobble that Gobble Day. Good deal!
I got chastised by the forum gods for sending PMs to way too many members asking them to participate in my little poll. Whew! I'll not make that mistake again. I do understand now, in hindsight, that what I did was not very well thought-out. I guess that's just the old marketer/manager in me. But.........
I did start a new poll with not 5 but 15 companies in it. I dropped out the obvious "ain't gonna make its", kept 2 of the original, then added 13 more. It's not getting very good response right now with Thanksgiving and ya know, some of these folks are WORKING!
I've thoroughly enjoyed my week off and have learned SO much from so many truckers in the forum. I've met some really good people and actually have a line on a job once I'm prepared to get into the "payin' dues" part of trucking.
Have a great week!
Oldnew....
P.S. Keep those cards and letters comin'!MADMAX683 Thanks this. -
If you're looking for a company to do your internship with, right out of school, a couple that were overlooked were TransAm and TMC.
Asking for someone to select one or two companies is apples and oranges. If your goal is to be a lease operator it's one group of companies. If your goal is company driver, another set of companies. Flatbed...yet another. Runs dedicated....another group.
Be more specific in what you're looking for and you'll get more targeted responses.JustSonny and 97 Ford Aeromax 550Det Thank this. -
T-Minus 7 hours and counting on the poll....(ahem) is that a good thing or bad?...LOL...j/k. Well bub, ya got your feet wet in here and thats GOOD. Ive watched and read how you handled yourself and ya passed the test instead of getting p*s*e* off, you came back in an adult like fashion and TOOK the medicine throwin at ya. Good learning experience. Better versed now to in this profession.
Some of the retorts throwin at ya,(for whatever you did), was justified and had me squarming in my chair with comebacks. You see, to "Maintain" in a adult-like-intellegent-non harrassment back-steaming mad fashion tells me(whatda I know)that you will handle the MORONS out there(on the bigroad,4 wheelers included) with a grain of salt and KEEP concentrating on whats going on AROUND you and when you reach your consignor(NO, not the bar). Some of the ridicule was VERY constructive I must say.
If you wanted a poll that would please EVERYONE, just write ALL the Companies down from A to Z. You'd be the proud owner of the "Worlds Biggest Poll". Guiness would make ya rich and you would disown even knowing us.
