Ya know Gears,
I just might be going to "LA via Omaha" with this poll but I hope the outcome will help more people than just me. There's so much in forum posts/threads about good/bad companies that I get confused.
I know that at some point I'll just have to bite the bullet and go with the company that is the best fit for me. Or maybe I'll have to go with whatever company will hire my happy, fat #####. But for now, because I have the time, I'm just going to continue trying to get as much info as possible, as you and others have suggested.
Thanks my friend,
Oldnew......
Now that's funny! But seriously, if you haven't done so already, just pick the best of the worst. I hope to add companies as I can and eliminate those (and you probably already know which ones) who just plain suck!!!
Thanks and have a good Thanksgiving,
Oldnew.....
Thanks for the reply! Good luck and continued success.

You can be sure Schneider will be on the list soon enough. I'll add them once the poll reveals which of the 5 the poll started with just plain suck!
Thanks for taking time to reply, be safe!
Oldnew......
Maybe you could just pick the "best of the worst". After 11 years in the industry you've surely heard enough from other drivers about their companies. I just picked these 5 to get the poll started. I'll add other companies as some of the lower scoring companies are dropped from the poll.
Thanks for you reply, be safe
Oldnew.....
Thanks Burg,
You gave me some insight into Werner that I had not read before. Good luck to you and keep in touch!

Gears Thanks this. -
I, as well as many others I am sure, understand how agonizing it is to feel secure in choosing our path into this industry. There is a lot of uncertainty and of course we want to make the best choices. I am certain that with all the companies you have listed there are drivers who have had a horrible experience and drivers that had a good experience and everything in between.
I greatly appreciate this forum and the opportunity it provides for me to get support and guidance from drivers with all levels of experience, and it is a great source of information.
At the point you are a now, what I would do is apply to all the companies and as stated before pick one you feel comfortable with. I would also pray and seek higher guidance. Then go forward, and begin the journey, let it unfold as it will and do my best along the way.
As a newbie, it is going to be like white water rafting. Keep an eye ahead, try to avoid big obsticles, don't expect the smoothest ride, just stay on board, keep upright, and enjoy the experience, even though it will be bumpy at times.SheepDog, JustSonny and rookietrucker Thank this. -
If your not sure on how to multi-quote posts. In every post next to the quote button, is another button with a "+
Pick every members post with that button and then, at the end of the thread, click the "Post Reply" button on the left side. It will give you the new screen with all the members you have chosen in quoted brackets. Then just insert between the brackets your reply to them. Then hit the submit button on the bottom.
Hope that helps,

You're a trip LT! We think a lot alike, e.g. the come and go of life, lemons make great lemonade, etc. One thing we don't have in common is white water rafting. I tried it once, BAD, BAD, BAD experience. I'm as coordinated as a pregnant antelope. Need I say more! Thanks for being my friend and best wishes on this Thanksgiving!

Poll results so far:
Roehl 51.43%,
Swift 17.14%,
Prime 20.00%,
Werner 2.86%,
JB Hunt 8.57%.
Please read threader starter before you respond! Then scroll to the top of the page to the poll. If you work for one of these companies and want to vote for them, go for it! If you work for one of these companies and would vote for another of the companies, beware - this is a public poll! If you don't work for one of these companies currently or never have worked for one of these companies, please vote based on what you've heard!

I can understand the uncertainty. Even after probably reading countless post and getting several different point of views. I look at the economy and research who's moving freight right now. I look to put in a solid no-drama 9 to 12 months with just about anyone and then be choosey. If it's Werner, so be it. Get in where you fit in or wash dishes.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
We're not going to get an update every few hours, are we?
