I really like the large heavily built doors on the Western Star

I feel like I am slamming the door on a Yugo with my 97 international

None, the KW 2016 has Cummins year with problems and other 3 older would be ok , but too small sleeper, for over 20 years i spend more time in truck than home and comfort is important, storage place large fridge, beds ,i drove all kind but it's huge difference in comfort from small flattop cab and high rise sleeper.

Actually other than looking cool I don’t see the attraction to a W900 or 379.

The footwell is so tiny you can barely reposition your feet in it.

On my Western Star the footwell was huge. I could stretch out and kick my right foot up on the heaterbox under the dash like a footstool

International not so much but still much roomier than the KW or Pete

Might as well get the WS, or a similar WS. Since the focus is on the Cheap, I’d stay away from Cats. The 12.7 is very cheap to maintain. Depending on which model it is, may or may not have oil wristpin/ piston cooling nozzles.I don’t see an engine serial #. I think only PK engine blocks were drilled for nozzles, before May, 98. MPGs should be good, but because they lack the torque of a Cat, might not be much difference, if heavy and in hills. Id get the Classic, but you’ll probably like the WS better. Especially since they’re so old. WS interiors hold up much better. It may even be lighter than a Classic. Pretty close anyways. Either one is about the easiest Trucks to work on.

actually as much as I like my w9, as far as driver comfort is concerned you cannot beat a western star, just sucks that they have steel cabs

Problem is I’m not in Canada and parts for the star car are generally double if you can even find them + the key is in the middle of the truck I hate not being able to start from the ground

They're that rare down in the US? Hell there's just as many Stars here as everything else.
