Buddy of mine did some course or class to be a crane operator and was fully certified. His previous profession was iron worker. It’s been a year and he still can’t find a crane job.
If you had to start over...

If I just had to start over I’ve decided I would jump off a cliff, into a shark tank, possibly take up handling cotton mouths. No way a guy live through it twice

I'd go get a taco truck.
Travel the country AND eat tacos!
Spreading happiness one stuffed tortilla at a time.

I agree the best tacos were from those taco food trucks in L.A.
Or in Watsonville while waiting for the strawberries to ripe at Doles or whatever it was.
And the dirtier looking truck, the better tacos.
All you need to do is to use hot salsa, just in case you were going to get sick later. At least that's what I was told by an expert taco eater when he saw me hesitant to get the tacos from the taco truck the first time. I took his advise and never got food poisoning.
I don't go to CA any more and miss the tacos quite a bit. -
I would have joined the Teamsters and been retired with a nice pension and fringe benefits , like my dad said dont settle for a nickle job son.
Geekonthestreet Thanks this. -
Not sure I would change a thing... US Army Trucking School in FLW, MO, followed by a 20-year career that pays me a pension today. Enough experience attained to transition to an oilfield job (water, prod. water, then crude), college money to get my degree after oil crashed, enough knowledge and fight to own a transport company for a few years before selling it off, and then part-time driving while consulting with the insurance industry for truck crashes. Now I am an office stiff, still not 50, and stacking my 401(k) so that when my son graduates, I can peace out for good (I'll be 59).
I'd have been too bored to be OTR.HaulinConestoga Thanks this. -
