An ex coworker of mine used to and still does at a Walmart for hometime. He’s local he parks it there every night and over the weekend. His truck has been hit, egged, the trailer got graffitied one time, he fired it up on Monday and his red light was glaring at him as someone siphoned all his fuel, and my personal favorite; someone(s) took about 5 shopping carts and tightly zip tied them to the truck. Walmart is not the end all be all of truck parking. If anything it’s risky at best.
If you park at a Walmart...

Can I park my truck on your front yard for 5 days , enlighten us

Is it your truck, or a company truck?
Seems to be a no brainer answer, because if you owned the truck you would never leave it unattended in a Walmart parking lot for any extended amount of time.SoulScream84 and tscottme Thank this. -

To those of you that left useful responses... very much appreciated.
The reason I ask is because I live in a pretty safe area. I've seen several tractor trucks parked at the Walmart here for at least 2 days at a time... but I'm not sure about 5 days in a row. So the question in my mind was "I wonder if they deliver here so the store allows them to do that?" One was actually a bobtail. I would say at any given time there's at least 1-4 trucks parked overnight at the Walmart at my location.
So it was reasonable for me to think, "I wonder if other Walmarts are like that too... let's ask the pro truckers!"
I figured I'd ask here if you've done this and under what conditions you were allowed to do so.
Actually across the street from the Walmart here there is another store that I know for a FACT allows tractors to park there because I've talked to the owner. But the space is limited so I only see one every now and then. No the truck doesn't deliver to his store... he just supports truckers I guess.Last edited: May 11, 2024

I consider it lucky when I can find a Walmart where I can do a 10 hour break...a lot of them don't even allow that much. I'm paranoid so I always go in to check with the manager just in case.
I think leaving a truck there for days is not only risky, but abusing the courtesy of them allowing us to park there at all. I agree with whoever said to find some kind of safe, paid situation for your truck and have the company foot the bill.HiramKingWilliams, Kyle G., SoulScream84 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wherever you park, unless it is secure private (paid for) parking there will be a chance of getting booted or towed. Make sure who gives you the permission to park at the store, also has the authority to give you permission to park in the lot. Some of the lots the store controls part of the lot, not all of it.
I don't park at Walmart now, haven't done it for a few years. I don't remember parking at stores more than 10 times in 10 years probably before 5 years ago. I always talked to the store manager to get permission. Even when there were other trucks parked. I also put my phone number taped to driver window.
Some lots that are posted no truck parking. When you contact the owner, they will allow it. Get that in writing (text) message.
Carry a boot key. (grinder)
Good luck.NewTruckerGuy Thanks this. -
I lived in Missouri. My local Walmart allowed it, for the weekend. In Dallas Texas Walmart had signs everywhere saying trucks get towed. So it's all location determined.

Doing that is what causes Walmart to erect height barriers to their parking lots. It screws all drivers who need groceries or just an overnight stop. If you need a place to park your truck, find a rental lot or other arrangement.
