Like I sad they don't give me many miles , I did a lot of local deliveries (I was OTR) and they pay per mile. Some times I have to wait for a load like a day. They don't keep promises about home time. the trucks are not so good like they say (You will have problems all the time). If DOT will start doing inspections for Schneider trucks they will be a lot of them out of service. This is my opinion.

I have been driving for them for 1 year as of today and they are a good company to drive for. In the beginning, yeah, I had a lot of days sitting and short miles but now I hardly ever sit and I get descent miles all the time. I never have a problem getting home, but then again, I only go home for Army National Guard duty. Everyone I talk to about home time says they get home for the most part at the time they put in for. Maybe a day early/late sometimes but that to me is not a big deal unless you really want to be home for something important. I would say the relationship between you and the person behind the phone, (dbl, dsr, dispatcher), is very important.

    Good luck

Why would you want to go back to a company you quit? :biggrin_2554:

I quit Schneider in '07, to try a career change. I was getting letters in the mail and they said if I came back I could keep my hire date, benefits, etc. The last one I got said if I didn't come back by 6 months after I quit, I wouldn't keep the hire date. So I came back within 6 months, and I kept everything like they said. But I gave 2 weeks notice when I quit, and turned their truck back in to their oc, that may have something to do with whether they'll rehire you. I can say I've been screwed working for them a few times, but overall they're no worse than any other giant otr company.

I left two years ago today. As of this week they would re-hire me (I've been driving those two years); but they disqualified my more-experienced team partner on a medical screwup by the PA who did her physical.

I didn't give them notice when I quit, but I cleaned out my truck and took it to the London, KY Walmart DC (They have a mini-OC there).
