Hi Chinatown, that's more common than you'd like to think. I knew an old trucker, that loved to truck, and finally, at 70 years old, upon pressure from his family, decided to retire, a month later, he was dead. On a much sadder note, a good friend's brother, not a trucker, but worked at a job for 30+ years, was an avid outdoorsman, had all kinds of plans upon retirement, at 62, he retired, got his 1st SS check, and died a week later. So who knows.:dontknow:

DING-DING-DING JOHNNY, WE HAVE YET ANOTHER WINNER!

That's what I was alluding to. The "vices" we really cannot do these days as we hold onto our jobs and CDL license, and our professionalism.

    But once retired..??

LET LOOSE AND, EX-TRUCKER's GO WILD!

Wouldn't you wanna see THAT video?

Hmmm, sure seems like a lot of drivers want to wasted first thing. You know what they say, "Once a burnout, always a burnout".

This thread could be seen as justification for random drug testing. From the looks of it the testing truly is a deterrent without which we would have a lot more stoned truckers on the road or at least sleepy from the night before.

Not even a Trucker yet and never a burnout.

But after holding a captains licence and running a business for 20 years with it, as soon as I was out of the biz It sure was nice to let that licence lapse and not be that guy at the party that has to say nope can't do it when the joint comes around.

If I do go and get a CDL I will go get another captains licence also as long as i have to live that lifestyle again.

Been probably 20yrs since the last time I touched the stuff. After my kids were born and then random drug testing, I stopped. Wasnt worth the consequences. Not looking to get wasted.. just a little buzz. Same as when I drink beer at home now.

I only run half as much as the next guy. So what I'm doing the time I'm not running now, I'd just do it full time. Plus I could finally join a band since I could keep a regular schedule. Probably get a few more dogs too.
