Cheap companies treat you that way. Once you get some time behind you and you keep a clean record then maybe you'll get a chance to experience a good company that cares about you because they're smart. It took me some years to get away from the crap companies but once I did I was fully vested in the company 100% from day one. After 6 months of probation like all new drivers I was at full pay.
So you can see there's two types of trucking out there. The companies that have the high turnover and the companies making the money. You'd be surprised if you become specialized or look around for the top jobs. It's a different world than the schools tell you because you need time to get there. Right now you'll just have to get your time and use them as much as they use you.
