Have to chuckle at this thread because, most of what's been said is true. I've been at TQI/FAF going on 3yrs as a Co. driver, when it was
Hollenbeck Enterprises Inc/TQI. As with any niche segment, the customers have the upperhand when it comes to load planning & scheduleing.
Add in government regulations regarding pharmaceuticals & Itnl. shipments, customs, security, etc. it's a headache fer sure. Ken is easy to get along with as long as you do it his way, Lol. I've been know to refer to my job as an "unarmed, underpaid armoured car driver"
But as they tell you at orientation, "it's a good job, but not a great one."
If you want to get rich stay away from TQI/Forward Air.........

Yep, Ken hates owner operators, never wanted them and FAF forced them on him, he is losing his grip on his little kingdom as FAF makes changes,I give him a year and he will be replaced by an FAF lacky

I've been with TQI for a year and things are working out for me. No job is perfect but I do have guaranteed pay. Ken is also no longer with the company.

We haul Pharma for Paxstar and yes it's not perfect, but what trucking job is. I have a brand new Volvo 780 I bought for a team. They lasted 2 weeks when the one drivers wife freaked out because he was gone too long. Now the #### thing sits empty.
Then again Paxstar pays a lot more than 1.05 a mile, and they have NO company drivers of their own. I have 4 trucks on with them. It's different for sure. Good luck out there.windsmith Thanks this. -
I work for TQI. TQI doesnt allow owner operaters they are strictly team and company drivers. I love this company. Been driving for 3 years, but been here for only one. Even though they are very security strong, its not bad. We may not make as much as some drivers, but atleast we get a solid paycheck each week. TQI gives its drivers $1150 gauranteed pay. You can absolutely make more than that. But, since 90% of their freight is pharma, some weeks we may only run 1,000 miles a week as a team. But we will still get the 1150. And thats all i care about. I need a steady income, one that i can rely on, so i dont get behind on bills. Unlike the other companies i have worked for, some weeks you may bring home close to 1150 and some you may only bring home 400-500.
On another plus note, they arent really #######es. I had to,go to the ER a few weeks ago while under a very tight security load, and they found me a hospital and even a cab service. And i had atleast 6 different people calling while in er asking if i was okay, and they were tryely worried. Not once did they ask when i was going,to be able to get back on the road, or anything work related. It truely did warm my heart to know that they actually care about their employees. I LOVE TQI
i know nothing about forward air, though. Tqi may be owned by forward air, but they are still two seperate companies.
