Doing “service work”. Prairie pays $40/hr.
Otherwise 25% of load.SavageMuffin and speedyk Thank this. -
I hated salt water when I did it a couple years ago. Where I’m at now isn’t bad. If I’m running water it’s in a little straight truck doing fresh water. All of our jobs are hourly though. Doing sewer work today.WesternPlains Thanks this.

The next step is how much they get per load and will they share the load sheets. Also, how many free hours detention before getting paid and how much per hour?SavageMuffin Thanks this.

Good points. How much per barrel and how many barrels can you haul. Also, SWDs are cool cause most have free food, at least they used to do that.
-
Good thing about water is it’s tanker experience plus you’ll always have work.

This is probably the wrong thread to explain, but what are the different kinds of water and why is salt water a PITA? I've got a couple inquiries out looking to haul water to add tanker experience and haven't hauled water yet.
TexasKGB Thanks this. -
Not really a PITA per se because of what it is, mostly because of how it pays at most places. Typically it’s percentage based, so the more loads you run the more barrels you carry the more you make. Problem is everybody and their mother hauls it, so typically it’s 1. Cheap and 2. Heavily saturated. By that I mean disposals are always packed and if you’re not moving water you’re aren’t making money. That’s my experience at least.
Some people make a good living doing it, they’ve been doing it long enough however they got everything down. What wells to hit first, disposal sites, shortcuts to get there etc.DeadPedalDreams, RockinChair and speedyk Thank this. -
Plains is a place to make a career. The top guys are doing 50% of the gross. But that's after so many years. I worked for them in Greeley and helped out Wamsutter. Wamsutter is fun, terrible place to live but fun. Most of the stuff is lease roads picking up condensate. They don't even have buckets under their load lines. I called the supervisor when I first saw that. He said, just let it hit the ground, it'll evaporate before you're done with paperwork.SavageMuffin Thanks this.
