Not true. Plenty of good companies in your area. I'm in RI near Providence and had no problem. More choices near boston and your area. Fairfield is pretty close to NYC. You should be able to find work with any major carrier right where you are. Try Schneider, Roehl, Con-Way, Prime. Go right in the classifieds on this forum, it will give you an idea anyway. Good luck.

Not to be argumenative, but all of the ads I see on Craigslist want experience for the oil field driving jobs. Am I missing something? Or is this a case of what is printed on paper is just not true in person? On paper a lot of things require a lot, but then you see the real deal and go WTF.

The real trick is to do something that you will like to do. Sure you can get an accounting degree and get a good paying job but be miserable. Getting a degree just to get a job is equally as big a mistake as not doing your "research". Find something you like to do and go for it. If you are good at something you will do well at it and likely be able to make a living. Some pay more than others but if you are just chasing the dollar you will likely not be successful or happy.
