Just wondering what some common greenhorn mistakes are.
So if any experienced drivers could do anything differently given the chance to start your careers over, what would it be?
If you were to start your career over...

I would have stayed in the garage business and become a service manager then a service director, at one of the many megaplex car dealerships. -
Mr G Anthony you are hoping to retire in 4 years, how many years will you put in as a trucker?

after starting in the mid 60's , then retiring in 2011 with the last 33 years at one company......not a single thing.

If I could do it over I wouldn't have waited so long to get on with my current company.
TruckDuo and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
If I had to start over I would have grown a pair sooner rather than later. You need to have big brass to get things your way.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
If I could start over I would stay at one employer longer and move up the ranks. I'd try to get on with somewhere with a nice pension or tuition reimbursement and nice 401k company match and get them to pay for my schooling and keep on working and retire from that job in 20 or so years and then move on to another job that does the same.. Be done at 60 years old or so and have 20 years in at two different companies and then find a easy job at wal-mart as a greeter for extra cash and live comfortable doing the grandpa shuffle everywhere with my laceless sneakers.
