Shotsjc I'll be there a week later. Big change for me too. Looking forward to it.
At the very least it will get me out of this 100 degree weather. What is there to do in Marshfield in the evenings? I was thinking of taking my golf clubs and fishing tackle. I plan on staying over the weekends. I thought I might take some day trips to see the Great Lakes. Never seen those before. Do they have a bowling ally? I don't want to sit in a hotel room every night and on the weekends.
Ill be going to Roehl soon...

Marshfield is actually a pretty good sized town with restaurants and shopping. Not sure about the fishing and bowling but I'd imagine you could do both. A word of caution though. Do not set foot in any bar in town while there for training. You will be terminated if anyone from the company sees you drinking during training. They have a zero tolerance policy on this subject.

There is a bowling alley on central ave. No fishing unless you go all the way to the lake, or up into the Northwoods. I'm not sure what fishing there is in the Wisconsin River. If you had a kayak that would be fun in the river. You will be about 3 hours from lake Michigan. There is the AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, that is a fun place to blow a day also. Just fyi, the free time is pretty limited. There is also alot of homework. Good luck, and have fun!

If you want to consume alcohol, you should only do it on a day off from school. IF you do, you should only drink like in the early afternoon. If you drink before bedtime, it may still be in your system when you go to school in the morning.
Also, don't buy beer to put in the hotel fridge. That is against Roehl's policy. I thought of doing the same thing at first, but good thing they went over it in school. LOL -
Just don't drink, that is the best way to handle it. They are pretty anal about it. I don't see the problem with a beer or glass of wine with diner... But I wouldn't do it, at least while you are in school.
notezbngrn71 and Shotsjc Thank this. -
NFL preseason games will be on tv. That'll kill time.
I'm not really a bowler but I have a ball and shoes. I'll take that with me.
After school is over how much time do you get at home before going out with the trainer? -
I got a week. I guess it depends how far you live from the terminal.
-
It just depends on where you live, and if there is a trainer in your area. The closer you live to a terminal the faster you will get picked up. Sometimes in some of the edges of our running areas it could take a week or more to get picked up. If you live kind of out of the way, (like I do) you will do best to stay in training until you are done. The sooner you get done with training the sooner you will get onto mileage pay. Good luck with RDTC, be ready to learn, it will be like information overload. Concentrate on driving, so you can pass your tests. Once you get with your trainer you will learn to plan trips, manage your time, all the other nuts and bolts stuff that makes the job work.

I plan on bringing my dumbells and exercise ball so I don't get off my routine while in rdtc. I didnt plan on drinking while there anyways. I just lost almost 50lbs so I need to stay on course. I still want to drop another 25lbs so the goal is to come close from now till my start with a trainer. That should give me close to 6 weeks so it is do-able. Then I will grab a 4 pack of dogfish head 90 min ipa a few days before a trainer picks me up. That's all I will need by then! Lol.

Even when you get with a trainer it is important that you keep up your exercise, there should be time for you walk, and that kind of thing, you should also be able to bring along a set of dumb bells or a kettle bell. Exercise and diet are really important while you are out on the road. It is too easy to fall into the do nothing but hold the wheel and eat junk food routine. Not to mention if you take time to walk, it gives you some time away from your trainer, which is good for you, and him also. The energy that you get from regular exercise is important for you to staying alert and being able to perform at your best all the time. Keep it up, and you will be glad you did!!!
Shotsjc Thanks this.
