Had my contract terminated last Friday where i was leased onto.. Reason called in on TWICE!! The Friday before last I was on my way back from NC and I was maxed out on the weight. Anyway I was on 23 north just a few miles of parking my truck when i came up on a car running 50 mph or a little less so i passed it i was running around 57 - 58 mph which it sped up and finally ran up on traffic blocking it in which i passed the traffic except the lead car which kicked it in the rear which then i got behind it but just as soon as i did he slowed back down so i got back over and it took off again so i got back over in the right lane and by then every one was stopped due to a red light. The car i passed which got block in went by me and gave me a dirty look and i never thought much of it. At this point i was 15 miles from parking my truck which i did,got in my pickup trk and headed home but before i pulled into my driveway work called and said OH MY GOD someone just called and said you were driving crazy and ran them into a ditch!!! I said NO #### WAY and told her the story.

    :p
Next day SAT had to unload this load in Delaware ohio at 1Pm which i did and was heading east on 70 thru columbus going by the( Wilson rd exit (for you who know the area) where the trk stop is, anyway noticed a string of traffic coming down the get on ramp looked in my mirror and 6-8 lenths back was some type of suv but it was moving pretty slow, until i put my signal and as i was coming over it was up my trl's rear in a flash, shot around the left side of me which he slowed down long enough to give me the finger, well both of them (two young guy's in their 20"s) they took off like a bat out of hell ran up on a slow car in the fast lane and stayed there until i came by them so they could shake the phone at me and flip me off one more time, once i passsed them and the slow car they shot around the car and passed me and got off at the next exit.

I had to pick up a preloaded trl out of the yard on Mon for ST Louis unload on tues, Texas on Wed reloaded for ohio, unloaded Friday and was let go that afternoon. My main concern is getting another job. This crap would be hard to explain. Better yet could they even say anything about this due to the fact it's someone ele's word and no way to really prove it? It's a messed up deal all the way around!
The razz is in there by mistake.

Lesson one. NEVER say something happened. If someone gives me the finger or does that kind of crap, I back off and stay back and let the four wheeler act like a fool all they want.

The second you have a story to tell your boss, it's over. You're guilty.

You say you've been trucking for 33 years, you should know that most 4 wheelers can't drive.. I had one lady pull out on me and say i was driving to fast... But good luck finding another job..

I thought I was getting fired from my last job due to call ins. I had 3 in one day with in an hr of each other. Beep Qualcomm message "call "x" in safety". I called he told me where and when. I was lucky because I wasn't in any of the three locations, he said this person says you were swerving in and out of traffic on the bypass. I told safety to pull my Qualcomm gps I wasn't I'm the bypass. The call ins were the week or so after a bunch of lay offs of office people due to a merger.

People like to call in and tell big fat lies for some reason.

I had a call in at the last company. I called safety per message. Safety man asks me if anything happened today I said yes Sir a car "x" color "x" state "x" plate with "x" number of people in it came around and attempted to pass me on the shoulder while I was passing another vehicle. I explained my lane change and mirror checks per smith system. Safety's reply okay stat safe out there. I'm always honest. If I screw up I admit it. The care claim I ran them off the shoulder.

I have a dash cam now by the way.

Couple weeks ago a big truck was driving in my lane beside me putting me half on the shoulder. I called at him on the radio, he claims I was in his lane and he was getting even. Didn't make sense to me, but okay. Anyway he gets nasty and biligerant so I said well I can reply my dash cam video for you. He tried to explain to me well if the dash cam shows anything, but what he said happened that it lies. Lol. I explained that I have it positioned to catch both hood mirrors as well. If I crossed the line it would show it. Well well well the video lies. Lol. He shut up finally. I should have sent the video to the company, but I behaved.

I only work for employers who realize 4 wheelers are crappy drivers and blow off bs calls like this. Makes life much simpler, I commend you guys on the level of BS you deal with in these aspects because I couldn't do it ... got no patience for that crap.

I've had a few call-ins, I explain what happened to the boss of the day and they usually give a courtesy call to the complainer explaining what they did wrong and how they should behave around trucks lol.

I would never put anyone in danger but sometimes people don't realize the position they are putting themselves in. Stay beside me for more than 15 seconds on an empty hwy, show no sign of trying pass safely and I'll start coming into your lane (unless it's a truck :) were all locked at 65). Pass or slow down, don't stay beside me ... it annoys me and it's dangerous. Say what you will but squeezing them a little and getting them away from my truck is a bitter-sweet kinda thing. 5 second risk to get them out of the way is worth saving the minute they would spend beside me in a danger zone. The ones with QC plates are bad for that.

Example : Pre trips are fine and dandy but tires can blow anytime without warning, regardless of their condition and have enough ooomph to cause a car to hit the ditch.

Guess what most of my call ins were about ...

Glad to see I'm not the only one that does this. The Northeast drivers are bad for it, but they seem to take it in stride when you crowd them to get them to move. Most times, the ones that match your speed are the ones that are talking on the phone or texting.

Another way of saying this is.....YOU have the right to remain silent...... There is also that amendment thingy about incriminating yourself. :biggrin_25520:
