Close calls like this are becoming all too often, with truck drivers caught in the middle.

Which part "couldn't be further from the truth"? I know people doing this is absolutely a common thing and very dangerous for everyone...that's why I tell them NOT to do it...

My mistake-having a “brain fart” moment, long day. If I had $100 for every time someone has cut across 2-3 lanes on an expressway just to make an exit,I’d be one rich SOB!!

I posted that previously. Have one in my car now, don't trust anyone anymore. In todays litigious society, you have to look out for yourself, now, more than ever.

I saw a PAM driver do this in his semi, with 53' dry van... This was on a Friday afternoon on I-96 up by Howell MI. Where was a cop when you needed him?

Within the first few months of driving, I was getting cut of repeatedly. Several times per minute. Had lots of near-misses, and was constantly working the brakes and re-accelerating. Eventually, I decided to watch my mirrors closely, predict when the troublemakers are likely to come along, and pre-emptively back off (preferably, starting my responses while the problems are still behind me).

It was surprisingly effective: As in something like a 95-98% reduction in near-miss collisions in front of me, and I get to keep my speed quite steady. People in cars still make the same nonsense moves they always do, but I consider them dangerous prior to their stunts, assume they're going to do their worst, and give them lots of space.

It is rare to see a dash cam video wherein the offending car does something that would actually makes it likely to hit me.

It sure does seem to irritate other drivers. Some nights, it seems everyone has a horn to blow, but that doesn't make me drive faster, nor does it make me care. If people want to drive faster, they'll have to learn to drive like survivors. Police don't seem to be very interested in me. I have yet to get even a "random" inspection.

Same here. So far in my driving career I’ve only had two Level 2 inspections(one each from Pennsylvania and Kansas, both of which I passed-and the Kansas one was done on New Years Day,lol)and the one accident I was involved in was a non-preventable but I always maintain the vigil.

It's snowing all day in eastern Pennsylvania and I live near a steep 2 mile hill. Traffic at a crawl going up; some lunk-head can't wait 5 minutes till everyone gets up this hill, so does a K-turn mid-hill behind me.
This is in about 4 - 5" of snow, still not plowed by PENDOT.
Saw this in the rear view mirror, one of those 3 foot long things with the 5 mirror panels, to give you 120 degree vision. The traffic going down was about 30MPH. Gave a light flash to the lead car - and he stops just feet from driver door. Almost a 5 car pile up or pile on. Boy am I cashing in on the NDMF's today!
(Non-Drivin') One lady turned onto a side street and flattened the stop sign on the other side of the road.
Wanted me to just pull her out backward. "You do know there is a stop sign under your car, right?"
I pulled her forward over sign instead of back like she wanted, got it out fine.

Who knows what wreckage it would have made if that sign-pole folded up all crazy under there.
I could just imagine it poking thru gas tank, and sparking it off. "There lady, you happy?"
