Heads up to all drivers who go through Illinois: effective 01/01/2011

Commercial Vehicles (HB 4673/PA 96-1179): Increases the minimum fine to $500 for commercial trucks that fail to display the name of the company on the side of the vehicle.

Get those names on the doors or else big brother gonna come down on you all. BTW, That mean the door, if you ever bobtail.

Fed DOT already requires the company name on the trucks, along with the DOT #.

I think IL is getting a point across....so many "leased to" decals drivers put on someplace other than the door....like under the sleeper window close to the bottom of the cab.

    Lilbit Thanks this.

Michigan requires the city and state portion to be displayed as well.

This law is mainly aimed at the guys who run with no markings what ever on the truck.

Many of the "haulers" put no info on their vehicles.

They are not looking at properly marked vehicles.

That's for vehicles registered in MI if I remember correctly. It's been a few weeks since I saw that, so my memory is a bit rusty.

We put all of our decals on the sleeper sides. Company name, truck number, all the DOT numbers, locations, GVW's, etc.

All there nice and easy to see. Makes the truck look much cleaner as well. No one has to look all over for info, it is right there for them.
