Saw this on the Illinois S.O.S. site: New program effective January 2014. If you drove a vehicle in the military "equivalent to a CMV" and are recently discharged, you can get a CDL. I am all for giving Vets as many perks as possible during and after their tours, but I would still like to see them tested for competence.
The perk should be waiving all charges.

Glad this is going into effect in my State! These guys know more then most of us! Coming into the field!.

Good to see my state is taking part in this...as long as a vet is honorably discharged , I'm all for it. Anything less than honorable , they forfeit the wavier.
