Another driver will deliver your load, and you will have to get to a doctor. And we wonder why so many truckstops have drivers die in their truck when they are sick.

Get and keep every bit of paperwork you can. It is CYA out there. Standard Operating Procedure is about a varied as everyone's Theological viewpoint; there are as many answers as there are questions.

I would suggest the use of the qualcomm in communicating with the company concerning illness.

There are regulations that prohibit a company from requiring a driver to run when ill. However, we all know that they will. If it is by phone, there is no proof.

Good point. But I will also keep any recordings my dispatcher leaves on my phone as well.

Can you imagine a truckstop with a physician? He would have to look like Doc from "Gunsmoke".

There is a mic you can get from radio shack I believe that will hook to a recorder and has a suction cup on the other end to stick to the phone.

Phone recordings without the knowledge of the other party are illegal in many states. I would suggest you do a search of the internet or even up on the top bar here. It has been discussed before.

I use a Sony digital recorder, it was about 45.00 from guitar center, it records off speaker phone crystal clear so it would also work for voice mail. and it has a jack for a external device like a phone mic.
