-
Actually it's 21 to be able to cross state lines.
-
True.
But many truckin' companies won't hire anyone under 23.
The insurance companies pull the strings. -
Yup and some even want you to be 25.
-
Yeah, but what he is trying to tell you is that and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee at that age....

No you should go to college, worry about your studies, get good grades. Heres the deal you can only make informed decisions if you are informed or educated. Till your 21 you can not drive commercially anyway. Stay in school get an education, after you graduate,m then decide if you still want to drive ok, at least you will be making an informed decision. And this is the same exact advice I gave to my kids...... Education First... -
OuCH!
That smarts.
-
Ahhhhhh...the folly of youth!
I remember when I was that age and knew everything.
BTW, many young guys start out as diesel mechanics---they then either get burned out from the hard work, or get hurt and become drivers.
Dont know of any drivers who later became diesel mechanics.....
{And, BTW, when a driver gets hurt, he becomes a fork lift operator in a warehouse}
