I'm a potential college dropout, should trucking be a plan 'B' for me?

I was honestly thinking about going back active until recently, but my joints and knees just can't take the beating anymore. Guess you don't know what you've got till its gone

oh jeez, ain't that the truth. I had considered going back for another period, but the thought of a PT test is enough to get me to stop.

Starting to really enjoy my free weekends to my schedule and not guard.

OP, you've got some real options and that's long before you even get into a truck.

    steelbeltsdrumming Thanks this.

Question the young dude may want to ask himself is. "After visiting a truck stop and hanging around it for a goood 24 hoursN. Does he want to call it home? And can he sit driving for up to 11 hours? And can he manage his affairs over the road? And can he manage his health?

Not trying to thread-jack, but all these horror-stories and testimonials from the rest of y'all are giving me second thoughts of returning to "the fold".

Of course, if the current guard outfit I'm working for manages to keep its contract with the current customer, it may just give me time to stick around and keep my other "out-of-state" job hunts going.

I'm currently attending college online, and just finished a brief, one month stint back.to truck driving. Take my advice and stay in school! Trucking ain't what it used to be. The regulations get harder and harder to work within, the pay hasn't incfeased to meet current cost of living expenses in years, and the public view of truckers is at an all-time low and dropping steadily. School is hard, I know. Try talking to your academic advisor. If the class that is screwing up your grades is not required by your major, you might bed able to replace it with something easier. I had to do that with Philosophy 101.

    Just sayin.
